Around 12:20 pm on August 8^th the Lower Macungie Fire Department, Topton Fire Company and the Grreenawalds Fire Company for RIT were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 351 Franklin st in the borough of Alburtis, Immediately after the dispatch the Alburtis Police Department was on the scene and reported that there was a working fire and that the 2 residents were out of the Building, Once on the scene Tanker 1 of the lower Macungie Fire Department went into service with a 1 3\4 inch hand line to start fighting the fire. The firefighters rescued 2 cats and the 2 residents were transported to the hospital by Macungie EMS. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal.
