MASTIC BEACH, NY – On July 29th just after 6:00 P.M., the Mastic Beach Ambulance Co. and Fire Department responded to a call for a report of a car versus house on Flower Road, located off Neighborhood Road.
On arrival, Assistant Fire Chief Jeff McGown and Assistant EMS Chief TJ Falah found a single-vehicle crash, with the vehicle backed up into the trees of a yard on Flower Road. EMS quickly went to work checking out the driver, who was out of the vehicle and on the ground on their arrival.
While EMS operated, Fire Chiefs McGown, Fred Loiacono and Luis Grego had their crews from the engine and rescue truck work to secure the vehicle. They also investigated to see if the vehicle in fact hit a house. After interviewing the resident of the home across from where the car was, Chief of Department Loiacono advised FIRECOM that he would need a building inspector and Fire Marshal to check out the structure.
Members of Mastic Beach Ambulance packaged up the patient and prepared for transport to a local hospital. The road was closed for about 40 minutes or so while members of the FD and ambulance company operated on scene.
