MUNHALL, PA. — July 24 — Engine 203 arrived as the first-due apparatus when the Munhall Volunteer Fire Company #4, 3401 Main St., responded to a car fire on Longfellow Drive. Before the fire could spread to a nearby boat that was parked next to the car, firefighters swiftly used a hose line to put it out. Before going back to work, crews secured the area, looked for any hot spots, and made sure the fire was completely put out.
There were no reported injuries. In order to minimize property damage during car fire events, the reaction showed the importance of a quick initial attack and well-coordinated activities.
