07/26/24-220am- A massive fire destroyed a strip mall in the main shopping district of Fair Lawn. Arriving units found heavy fire at the rear of the Green Dragon Restaurant on Fair Lawn Ave. Initially entry was attempted thru the rear door of the building, but fire had extended beyond control. Fire broke through the roof of the restaurant and eventually collapsed into the building. The fire destroyed a popular Bakery in the mall, "Zadies" which is a great loss to the Jewish Community. The fire extended the length of the roof of strip mall, rendering it a total loss. Mutual Aid was received from several surrounding communities. Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps was on scene to provide rehab and refreshments to the firefighters. Thankfully, there were no injuries during the incident and units were beginning to get relieved at the scene at approximately 530am
