On July 20, the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company responded to a car fire on the Southern State Parkway.

After arriving first, Engine 1-5-6 swiftly used a handline to put out the fire. Engine 1-5-7's crew used power saws to open the engine compartment after the fire was put out, enabling firefighters to finish overhaul procedures and make sure the fire was completely put out.

Two people were sent to a nearby hospital. Michael Kilbridge Jr., the 2nd Assistant Chief, was in charge of handling the situation.
