Elmont, N.Y. — July 3 — A house fire at 192 Lincoln Street was reported, and the Elmont Fire Department, located at 95 Lehrer Ave., Elmont, NY 11003, responded. Chiefs 705 and 7012 arrived and verified that there was a working fire on the second level of a private residence. As firefighters advanced hose lines, investigated the house, and attempted to contain the fire while safeguarding the rest of the building, Chief Santina took command.

In order to ensure sufficient personnel and firefighter safety, mutual assistance resources supported operations under the incident command structure. The crisis was brought under control, more property damage was prevented, and emergency coverage for the neighborhood was maintained thanks to the coordinated response.
