SOUTH BRISTOL, NY - On Tuesday, July 14, at 7:13 p.m., Richmond and Bristol fire departments were dispatched to a house fire at 6104 County Road 33 in the town of South Bristol.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully involved two-story structure in a wooded area at the end of an 800-foot driveway.
Due to a lack of hydrants in the area, and air temperatures in the 90's, the blaze went to 3 alarms for tankers and additional personnel.
Mutual aid responded to the scene from Naples, Cheshire, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Canandaigua, Livonia and Hemlock.
The homeowner and a dog were home at the time of the fire and were able to escape to safety.
The displaced occupants were being assisted by the Red Cross.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation by the Ontario County Office of Emergency Management.
