Wayne Firefighters Respond After Van Enters Stream

On July 4, an unoccupied van slid out of a driveway and landed partially in a stream. Community Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, the Wayne Police Department, and the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad responded to the vehicle incident.
The van crossed a yard, hit a fence, and came to a rest in the water. There were no reported injuries. Emergency personnel safely evacuated the area after J&M Towing arrived to retrieve the car.
To assist minimize unattended vehicle rollaways, the department encouraged drivers to put their cars in park and apply the parking brake.
