Gettysburg, PA. — June 21 — Following reports of a residential structure fire with potential entrapment, the Gettysburg Fire Department arrived at the 300 block of North Stratton Street. After several 911 calls verified a working fire, the incident was escalated to a Working Fire Dispatch. Firefighters searched the house, ventilated it, conducted an internal attack, and looked for signs of fire spreading to nearby homes.
Before workmen arrived, police verified that every resident had safely left. In around half an hour, the fire was contained, preventing significant damage to the third level and safeguarding nearby residences. Mutual assistance organizations assisted with activities throughout the crisis, and neither civilian nor firefighter injuries were reported.
