Crews Extinguish Brush Fire in Del mar

On Tuesday June 25th around 10:30 AM, Crews from San Diego Fire-Rescue Department were dispatched to a brush fire at the top of Del mar Scenic Parkway. Crews initially extinguished the fire. Around 14:15, the fire reignited. A first alarm wildland response was initiated. There were some structures threatened at the top of the hill. Air resources were also called in. CalFire tankers 70 and 71 from Ramona Air Attack were called in along with several helicopters. The fire was held to about 20 acres. tow firefighters suffered heat related injuries. There was no reports of damage to any structures. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
