Punta Garda, FL - Charlotte County Fire & EMS responded to a residential structure fire on Navigator Road in the Deep Creek community after crews observed a column of smoke while en route.

On arrival, firefighters encountered fire showing from two sides of the home and initiated an immediate fire attack, quickly bringing the incident under control.

All occupants had safely evacuated prior to arrival, and no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross assisted the displaced family.

The fire was determined to be accidental, with investigators identifying an older arcade game machine inside the home as the point of origin.
