Shirley, NY - On May 26th at about 10:15 p.m., the Brookhaven Fire Department and Shirley Ambulance were called to the scene of a crash on William Floyd Parkway near Robinwood Dr. Brookhaven FD Chiefs Verni, Darrow and Loiacono responded to the scene along with crews from Rescue Trucks 3 & 4 and Engine 8. Shirley Assistant Chief Marc L. and Ambulances 18 & 19 were also dispatched to the scene of the crash. On arrival, fire and EMS personnel found one person was ejected from the car and laying on the parkway. It was determined that that the person was deceased at the scene. Fire and EMS members assisted police in checking to make sure there were no other people ejected from the vehicle before firefighters and EMS were dismissed.
Suffolk Police 7th Precinct Officers requested a k-9 Unit to respond to continue to search the scene. Crime scene units and detectives were also requested to the scene of the crash and an accident investigation was conducted.
