Naples, FL - Greater Naples Fire Rescue District responded to a garage fire that originated from multiple lithium-ion batteries charging inside the structure. The batteries—used for equipment such as a weed eater, lawn mower, and power tools—were placed on wooden cabinets when the fire ignited.

Before crews arrived, bystanders acted quickly, using a garden hose to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading beyond the garage.

Firefighters addressed remaining hot spots and confirmed full extinguishment. The incident resulted in minor smoke within the home and heat and smoke damage to a vehicle in the garage. No injuries were reported.
