At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 27th, a first alarm was struck for the Danielson Fire Department and mutual aid companies for a reported structure fire at 20 Robertson Ave. with possible entrapment. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a 1.5-story residence prompting a second alarm upgrade. Crews forced the front door and performed a rapid primary search of the residence revealing a deceased individual. The search crew determined the fire was burning in the basement and a line 1.75” hand line was deployed to the rear bulkhead. Crews were able to completely knock the fire down within 10 minutes of their arrival. The fire is under investigation by the Killingly Fire Marshals Office and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.
