At approximately 1:56 a.m. on Thursday, June 27th, Dudley Fire Department’s 1st Alarm was struck for a reported structure fire at 13 Central Ave. Engine 1 arrived within five minutes of dispatch and reported heavy fire showing from the Delta porches of a 2.5 story multi-family with fire threatening an adjacent building. A second alarm was struck as the initial crew made an exterior attack on the process, while also cooling the threatened structure.
Once the exterior fire was largely knocked down and additional units arrived on the scene, crews went interior and discovered heavy fire on the second and third floors, prompting a third alarm upgrade. The first was quickly knocked down and searches revealed everyone had made it out of the building. Crews were on the scene until approximately 5:30 a.m. working to put out hotspots and overhauling.
The fire is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Fire Marshals Office.
