Severe Burn Incident Triggers Coordinated Emergency Response and LifeNet Airlift to Specialized Care

Coeymans Hollow, NY - Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation responded to an EMS call involving a patient who suffered significant burns after falling into a fire pit.


Upon arrival, Chief Haight assessed the patient and advised Albany County Medic 3 of burns to the arm, torso, and face. Due to the severity of injuries, it was determined that air medical transport was required for specialized burn care.


Assistant Chief Williams coordinated the response, requesting a landing zone at Joralemon Park. Rescue units established and secured the site, with direct communication maintained with the incoming LifeNet flight crew.


The patient was transported by Ravena Rescue Squad to the landing zone and then airlifted by LifeNet to a regional burn center for further treatment.
