Fully Involved SUV Extends to Wood-Ridge Building

WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - At 1:29 p.m. on June 27th, Wood-Ridge units were dispatched to 16 Veterans Drive for a reported car Fire. Moments later, dispatch upgraded the call to a Structure Fire. Companies arrived to a fully involved SUV with fire extending up the side of a building. A second alarm was struck, bringing mutual aid units to the scene. Companies were able to extinguish a rapidly extending fire in under an hour. Mutual aid from Carlstadt, Hasbrouck Heights, Lodi, Moonachie and Wallington assisted on scene, while companies from Little Ferry, Rutherford and South Hackensack provided coverage. Two dogs were safely removed from the building. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
