Hasbrouck Heights Firefighters Contain Madison Avenue House Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department responded to a reported residential building fire in the 200 block of Madison Avenue on June 2.

According to officials, the first-arriving chief escalated the situation to a working fire after reporting smoke. Firefighters discovered a large fire that stretched from the first floor into the attic via an outside wall. The fire was successfully contained to the initial wall by the first-due engine's vigorous fire assault, which stopped it from spreading to the rest of the house. While a second alarm was sought to give station coverage, Chiefs 61 and 62, Engine 2, and Squad 1 worked at the incident. The cover firms also responded to a complaint about an elevator entrapment during the incident.
