Wareham Fire Department Assists at Major Gas Leak in Bourne

WAREHAM, MA - Wareham Fire Dept. assisted during a significant gas leak at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne on May 28th.


Assistant Chief Haskell and Engine 3, together with a callback crew, arrived to help with the situation, according to officials. Firefighters monitored the atmosphere on Patriot State, the academy's training ship, and a cruise ship that was docked at the maritime facility while they were on scene to make sure there were no dangerous gas levels on board.


For about three-and-a-half hours, Engine 3 and Assistant Chief Haskell stayed on scene to assist responding agencies in managing the incident safely.
