At 4:28 pm on Wednesday, 6/24/26 the Attawaugan and Dayville Fire Departments were dispatched to 38 Attawaugan Crossing Road for a power line down with a brush fire and an exposure issue. Service 163 arrived at 4:34 and stretched their booster line for a fire in the front yard.
At 4:36, Service 163 reported a working fire in the basement, so the incident was upgraded to a first alarm. This added Dayville Ladder 163, East Killingly ET-264, Williamsville Engine 160, East Putnam Tanker 179, Putnam Tanker 178, South Killingly and Atwood FAST with KB Ambulance.
Tanker 162 pulled into the driveway and stretched an 1.75” crosslay to the walk out basement on the delta side. The driver from Tank 162 stretched into the basement with two members from Dayville. Tanker 163 tied into Tanker 162 and gave them their tank water.
Engine 160 laid a 4 inch supply line from the hydrant near Interstate 395 but held off on opening it. A line was then stretched into the rear of the top floor where crews reported extension in the Bravo side wall. Car 62 had command and the Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
