Bergenfield firefighters with mutual aid by Teaneck Tower 2 were able to extinguish an attached garage fire before flames extended to the home.

At 2:00 AM on June 21st, a working fire at 88 N. Vivyen Street was reported. The first due unit reported a working fire in the attached garage of a 1 ½ story residence. The garage as well as the home was opened up and a truck was requested from Teaneck. Two lines were stretched, one to the garage and a second to the rear of the structure. The seat fo the fire was located and quelled. Smoke was showing from the roof area, but it was soon determined to be residual and no fire extension was located. The fire was placed under control and units began to be released.
