Central Islip FD Handles a Double Tool Job

Central Islip, NY - June 21, 2012 The Central Islip FD was activated for a reported car into a tree at the intersections of Connetquot Avenue and Atlantic Street. E378 was the first arriving unit and advised there were two vehicles involved and EMS crews on scene were requesting the doors be removed from each vehicle for patient extrication.
E378 crews placed their Hurst tool into operation on one vehicle and arriving R376 placed their Hurst tool into operation to remove the door on the second vehicle. Rescue 3715 also made the assignment and their crews assisted in the operation.
Both patients were extricated and removed from the vehicles as EMS crews continued patient care and transported to local hospitals for further treatment.
All FD units were returned to service following the operation.
