Vehicle Overturns After Striking Utility Pole Outside Aldi on Brewerton Road
Hinsdale, NY - Firefighters responded on automatic mutual aid with the Mattydale Fire Department to a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a utility pole in front of the Aldi store on Brewerton Road.
Dispatchers reported that the utility pole had been snapped and the vehicle had overturned onto its roof. Upon arrival, the first chief officer confirmed the severity of the crash, with all occupants already self-extricated prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.
Hinsdale Rescue 5 arrived as the first-due rescue and assigned its crew to multiple tasks, including patient assessment support and a thorough scene size-up. Firefighters also evaluated hazards related to the damaged utility pole and ensured the area was secured for both responders and the public.
Crews remained on scene coordinating with mutual aid partners until the situation was stabilized.
