Medford Ambulance Company Open House

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Medford, NY - On Saturday, May 18th, the Medford Volunteer Ambulance Company held their open house at Station 2 on Sipp Ave. The Volunteers of Medford opened the doors for the community to tour the Ambulance building as well as set up activities and demonstrations.

Some demonstrations included a stop the bleeding demonstration, Advanced Life support, Blood pressure readings and more. Children and “Big Kids” got to look at the ambulances and equipment. The department had give aways, raffles and even a petting zoo on hand to help celebrate EMS week.

NYS Assemblyman Joe Destfano stopped by for a visit. Joe is an avid supporter of the Fire and EMS service being a volunteer himself in the Medford Fire Department. This was a wonderful event for those to attend.
