NORWICH, CT - At 5:42 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27th, the Norwich FD was dispatched to 174 Elizabeth Street for a house fire. Battalion 1 and Engine 3 arrived at 5:45 P.M. reporting a working fire on the second floor rear porch that was extending into the dwelling. Engine 3 stretched a line up the exterior stairs and knocked most of the exterior fire. Then they stretched into the second floor where the truck crew was pulling ceilings and opening the walls where they found extension. The driver of the truck company set up on the 'Alpha'/'Bravo' corner and threw ground ladders around the building. Squad A established the water supply and performed the primary search. Engine 2 stretched the second line through the first floor where they found some fire in the walls that had dropped down. There were no injuries and the Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
