SHIRLEY, NY - On Sunday, April 16th at about 12:00 P.M., the Brookhaven Fire Department was activated for a report of a vehicle fire on Adobe Dr., between Alder Ln and Margin Dr West. Fire-Com Advised Chief of Department Anthony Verni and 2nd Assistant Chief Hudson Darrow that they had received two calls for a vehicle on fire near a house. On arrival of Engine 5-3-9, Captain John Hodge advised there were negative flames showing, but requested a booster line to be stretched. Firefighters quickly used the booster line to take care of what may have been a small electrical fire/item in the vehicle smoking. Unit 5-3-8 and fire police were also on scene to assist. All units were back in service in a short time.
