TILTON, NH - Early on Friday morning, April 7th, a fire tore through a home under constuction on Stonehege Circle. First arriving Franklin and Tilton firefighters found the garage in between the two condo units fully involved with heavy fire.
The wind-driven fire spread to the right side condo unit into the peak roof area. Franklin and Tilton crews stretched lines and made an aggressive attack on the garage, and then encountered heavy fire in the hallway and ceilings as fire spread to the roof area. The building is a two-unit duplex style log home under construction, reported the Tilton Fire Department.
"The fire is considered accidental at this time and appears to have started in a trash barrel in the garage."
Heavy smoke could be scene from the firehouse and a second-alarm was called for, immediately bringing crews from Franklin, Sanbornton, Belmont, Laconia, Gilfiord, Gilmanton and Concord.
