Early Tuesday morning, the FDNY responded to a fatal 2-alarm fire at 520 Mac Donough Street in Brooklyn. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Upon arrival, units encountered heavy fire in the first, second and third floor as well as in the roof. Our units quickly stretched multiple handlines, aggressively searched and extinguished the fire after it was a second alarm. We had 25 units, approximately 120 people,” said Deputy Chief Chuck Downey.
The fire was placed under control at 1:09 a.m.
FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.
