Semi -Rural Third Alarm Dwelling Fire

Lower Saucon Twp.- On March 27th at 09:07 hrs, the Northampton County 911 Center dispatched companies to a fire at 3840 Mockingbird Hill Road in the township. Involved was a two and one half story house with heavy white smoke billowing from it. The location was about a mile northeast of Hellertown in a semi-rural area. Command immediately requested a second alarm and asked to add five more tankers to the scene above the two already assigned. The fire quickly went to three alarms as apparatus came from the Bethlehem FD, and the counties of Northampton, Bucks and Lehigh. During the fire, a firefighter was seen being given aid to the rear of an ambulance for unknown circumstances.The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist seven people displaced. As the bulk of the fire darkened down, crews remained on the scene for overhaul and hot spots; the roadway was opened up around 12:45 hrs.
