Just before midnight, the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire with flames coming from the garage. The first arriving unit, EMS-27, reported a fully involved detached garage with fire extending to the resident's home. With this update, Captain 36-54 requested a second alarm. The fire was contained to the garage, while the home sustained heat and smoke damage. No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was requested to assist the residents.
