House fire in Middle Island Monday, March 27, 2017.
Just before noon authorities from the Gordon Heights F.D. and SCPD 6th Pct. responded to a house fire on Smith Lane, off W. Bartlett Rd. Assistance was called to the scene from the Yaphank, Medford, Middle Island, and Coram F.D's (to name just a few). The fire was declared under control in under forty-five minutes. No injuries were reported at this time. Officials are investigating the cause of the blaze. The fire occurred in the town of Middle Island, but in the Gordon Heights Fire District.
