House fire in Mastic Beach, Tuesday March 28, 2017.
The Mastic Beach Fire Dept., Mastic Beach Ambulance, and SCPD 7th Pct. responded to a working house fire in a residence on the north west corner of Elm Road West and Moriches Drive just prior to 7:30 a.m. One occupant was reportedly home at the time the blaze broke out, but was able to escape unharmed. Mastic Beach Chief Carlo Grover (5-13-30) was in charge of the scene. Mutual aid was called in from the Mastic F.D., Brookhaven F.D., Center Moriches F.D., Shirley Community Ambulance, and Mastic Ambulance. No injuries were reported at this time. Officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
