PRESTON, CT - At 8:33 P.M. on March 25th, the Preston FD was dispatched to 3 Cedarcrest Drive for a house fire. Preston Engine 21 arrived at 8:40 with heavy fire from an attached garage that was spreading into the home and pickup truck in the driveway. Engine 21 laid a 5-inch line from Route 165 into the scene and then stretched (two) 1.75" hose lines to the front. Their tankers arrived next and nursed the scene.
Norwich Engine 2 cleared a medical and arrived as the second due pumper. They stretched a line through the front door where they encountered a large volume of fire. Mashantucket Tower 1 and East Great Plain ET-51 provided manpower for overhaul. ET-51 & Voluntown's Tanker 353 shuttled water back and forth from a hydrant on Hamilton Ave. Mohegan Tribe provided the FAST and the Preston Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
