Allentown Firefighter Battle Porch Fire

At 11:17 on March 11, the Building Fire assignment was sent to 1514 Union St in the City of Allentown. As the Allentown Fire Department was Responding, Allentown Police Department officers arrived and reported fire showing from a house. Engine 9 arrived first and stretched a line to the front of the house. Engine 9 declared a working fire and requested a supply line from Engine 13. Battalion 43 arrived and reported smoke showing from the 1st floor of a 2 story middle of the row with one hand line in place and room in front of the house for Truck 2. Firefighters were able quickly knocked the fire with one hand line. As primary searches were being conducted it was determined that the fire was contained to the front porch. Crews found and rescued one dog that was in the house. Once the fire was out crews began taking up a short time later.
