Brush Fire Spreads to Mobile Home in Midway.

MIDWAY, FL – A brush fire broke out on the evening of March 22, 2025, prompting a multi-agency response as it spread to an abandoned mobile home.

At approximately 10:24 p.m., Midway Fire District’s Engine 37, Truck 36, and Battalion 35 were dispatched to the intersection of East Bay Boulevard and Rusty Lane after reports of a fire within the wooded area. Upon arrival, crews found the fire had spread approximately 200 feet into the woods.

As the flames intensified, the blaze reached an abandoned single-wide mobile home, engulfing the structure. The incident was quickly upgraded, bringing in additional resources, including Engine 35, Holley-Navarre Engine 41, Brush 41, and Battalion 45. The Florida Forestry Service also responded to assist in containing the fire.

Firefighters battled the flames and managed to contain the fire after it consumed approximately half an acre of land. Unfortunately, the mobile home was completely destroyed.

Despite the severity of the fire, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
