HIGHLAND TWP., PA - On February 19^th at 2:20 P.M., Station 33 was due for the RIT assignment assisting Company 8 for a reported outbuilding fire in Highland Township. Rescue 33 responded with eight personnel, followed by Engine 33-5 with six additional personnel to supplement the assignment. First arriving units found a 30'x30' single-story, pole barn fully involved and began suppression efforts. The assignment was quickly scaled back as Ladder 8, E27-2, and Lancaster E52-1 made quick work of the incident. Command returned Rescue 33, as the RIT assignment was no longer necessary, but requested E33-5 to continue to the scene. Engine 33-5 supplied initial units during mop-up efforts and assisted with overhaul before clearing the scene.
