Wilson Borough- On March 14 at around 06:42 hrs, the Northampton County 911 Center dispatched units to a fire at the old abandon Dixie Cup factory at S.24th St and Washington Blvd. This four story building stretched approximately 267 feet from end to end and was last in production forty years ago. The building was more than a hundred years old and had an area of 630,000 sq.ft.. Since there was no heat or electricity in the building at the time of the fire.,Wilson Borough Fire Chief Joe Sipel has ruled this fire as suspicious, The fire was situated on the fourth floor running about two thirds of the building on the roof line. Due to the size and characteristics of the fire building with its unknown potential, the blaze quickly escalated to a third alarm. Fortunately, crews were able to get the main body of fire under control in about a half an hour but hot spots plagued firefighters for several hours. Approximately, some 12 departments responded to the scene and there were no reported injuries .
