Smoke Detector Alerts Resident to House Fire in Norwalk

NORWALK, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a single-family residential structure at 4 Tonetta Circle, 47 minutes past midnight on Sunday, March 9th.


The single adult occupant exited the home safely after smoke detectors alerted him to a fire in the basement which extended into the first-floor living area. There was significant fire damage to the basement and two rooms on the first-floor, with extensive smoke damage throughout the dwelling.


The Norwalk Fire Department responded with a total of 28 firefighters in the 1st Alarm assignment consisting of three Engines, two Ladders, a Rescue Company and Command staff. No injuries were reported. The Norwalk Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
