Barn Fire on Plains Road in Walden

WALDEN, NY - Walden FD responded around 10:30 P.M. Thursday night, February 27th, to a reported barn fire at 127 Plains Road. Walden Command arrived and advised 911 of a working fire and to resound home alerts for all available manpower. Mutual Aid to the scene included Coldenham Engine/Tanker; Wallkill Pumper; Orange Lake Pumper; Air National Guard Tanker; Plattekill Tanker; and Cronomer Valley Engine to fill site. Town of Montgomery EMS transported a burn victim to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital. Firefighters used hand lines to knock the fire down. A ladder was set up and sprayed water on the fire. Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-12 and Town of Montgomery Police were at the scene. Tankers were stationed on Plains Road and dumped into a portable tank set up. The fire is under investigation.
