MONROE, NY - At 1:04 A.M. on the morning of Thursday, February 23rd, the Washingtonville Fire Department was dispatched as the FAST on the second-alarm to a house fire on Highland Avenue in the Village of Monroe. Squad 580 responded. Upon arrival, the crew of Squad 580 was split to act as the FAST and to assist with "opening up" in the building. Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters found three deceased people inside the home. They were later identified as 33-year-old Kalman Goldstein, his 27-year-old wife, Sarah, and their 7-year-old daughter Miriam.
