Yesterday, just after 4 pm, Netcong Fire, Netcong PD and Stanhope-Netcong EMS were requested to respond to 83 Main Street, Netcong Train Station, for the Car vs. Train incident. On arrival, units found an NJ Transit commuter train at a halt, with a severely damaged white Chevrolet Tahoe pushed through the safety fence of the railroad crossing. Contact was made with two patients inside the vehicle and it was determined they sustained minor injuries. Once out of the vehicle, both patients were assessed and transported to Dover General Hospital by Stanhope-Netcong Ambulance Corps. Crews remained on scene cleaning up debris & for precaution as the vehicle was removed from the platform by JC and Daughters Towing.
