LISBON, CT - At 12:27 pm on Monday, 2/10/2025 the Lisbon Fire Department with Jewett City Engine 156, Ladder 156, Griswold ET-355, Voluntown Tanker 353, Taftville Engine 22 and the Yantic FAST were dispatched to 56 Town House Road for a barn fire. Car 54 reported a header while responding and added 5 tankers which came from Canterbury, Plainfield, Preston, Bozrah and East Great Plain.

Car 54 and Engine 154 arrived at 12:32 with an approximate 60 X 30 metal barn well involved and beginning to collapse. The crew stretched an 1.75” hose line to the front and assisted with removing some animals. Tanker 154 arrived next and nursed the engine. Engine 156 arrived third and laid 800 feet of five inch up the driveway and tied into the tanker.

The crew from Engines 156 and 22 then pulled a 2.5” hose line to the rear. A third line was then stretched to the bravo side while Engine 33 helped pull the pile apart.

One firefighter was transported by Lisbon ambulance after an injury sustained on the fireground. The Lisbon Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
