A brush fire in Daytona Beach quickly grew to a large size as Daytona Beach Firefighters and the Department of Forestry worked to control it. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from encroaching on any houses in the area and no residents or businesses had to be evacuated. The efforts lasted all day into the night but was finally contained at 140 acres.
