HUDSON, FL - Pasco Fire received a call for a fire at the end of Placid Rd., February 3rd. The first call came in for an outside fire, and then a call for a possible structure fire. First due Engine 39 arrived, but the crew was unable to get the engine down the dirt road to the area on fire. At this time, they had to call in brush trucks as they are 4-wheel drive and a lot smaller to get in. The area was large and contained a lot of miscellaneous items from a car to other items, including propane tanks that were exploding during the fire. The fire was moving fast and picking up a lot of the brush that surrounded the large dirt area as flames rushed up some of the smaller trees. The Florida State Forestry team was also called in to assist.
