Franklin Fire Causes Heavy Damage to Building

FRANKLIN, NH - On January 26th, a two-alarm fire caused heavy damage to a three-story single-family home. Around 11:15 P.M., a caller reported a house on fire at Chance Pond Rd. and North Main Street. Franklin, along with automatic mutual aid was dispatched, and Franklin companies arrived a short time later finding the rear of the three-story structure fully-involved. A second-alarm was transmitted and members began a search for any missing occupants. Numerous hand lines were deployed and Laconia's Tower Ladder operated in the rear while Franklin's Tower opened up the front side of the roof. The fire had already burned through the rear section of the roof and interior sections as well. The fire was knocked done by 12:15 A.M., and the NH State Fire Marshal's office was brought in to investigate.
