Brookhaven Firefighters Handle Reported House Fire

Shirley, N.Y.– On the morning of Saturday January 23rd 2021 the Brookhaven Fire Department activated for a report of a structure fire on Windsor Place of Montauk hwy. Chiefs Dan DiPinto and Giuseppe Loiacono were the first to respond to the scene.
On arrival at the home the chiefs began to investigate. Engine 5-3-5 Was first on scene and their crew went to the rear of the building with Assistant Chief Loiacono to investigate along with the crew from 5-3-8. Assistant Chief Loiacono found a slight smoke condition and requested a fan to the rear of the structure. The issue was determined to be electrical in nature and firefighters secured the situation quickly. No injuries were reported; however Shirley Ambulance was on scene for support. All members except for Chief DiPinto went back in service in about 30 mins from the time of the alarm. Chief DiPinto remained on scene because a fire marshal was requested.
