WHITMAN, MA - Around 9:30 A.M. on the morning of Wednesday, January 24th, the Whitman Fire Department responded to a reported dumpster fire at the rear of 10 Buckley Avenue. Engine-243 and Car-3 responded. Companies arrived to find a large dumpster fully involved. An additional engine was requested, along with a box struck for manpower. To avoid a long lay, water was shuttled from the hydrant to the fire with Engine-242. Two lines were stretched and put into operation. Eventually, foam was used to extinguish the fire in the dumpster, which involved rolls of commercial carpet. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not extend outside the dumpster.
