New Britain, CT. - A underground electrical vault fire in the 500 block of Main Street caused several manhole covers to blow off on the evening of January 14th. Smoke and flames were showing from the manholes but did not effect any of the buildings in the area. The fire department monitored the situation and checked on several buildings making sure everything was safe. Eversource cut power to the vault and took over the scene. CNG also responded with a crew.
