NETCONG, NJ - On January 7th, just before 7:30 P.M., Netcong Fire Department was requested to respond to 12 Dell Avenue for the reported residential structure fire.

While enroute, Chief 1 could see smoke from Route 183. After receiving confirmation of the working fire from patrol, the call was upgraded to a second-alarm. Crews worked tirelessly against strong winds and freezing temperatures to extinguish the fire.

During this call, embers carried by the wind ignited a small fire in the backyard of an adjacent home on Allen Street. Byram Fire Department responded and extinguished the secondary fire, preventing further damage. All units cleared by 10:30 P.M.
