On Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., Firefighter Billy Moon was laid to rest. Billy was a member of FDNY Rescue Company 2, as well as Islip Fire Department ex-Chief, and Islip Fire Department Wolve racing member. Billy passed away after he fell 20-feet, sustaining a head injury, while on duty December 12, 2022. Billy was an organ donor and saved five people with the donation of his organs just before Christmas. Billy is survived by his wife and two kids. Firefighter William P. Moon ll is the 1,159th member of the FDNY to die in the line of duty.
